The country of Croatia is located in what was formerly Yugoslavia (1945-1992). Now an independent country, it is on the western side of the Balkan Peninsula. Shaped like a crescent it is directly below Slovenia and Hungary and hugs the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Split is the second largest city in the country of Croatia, and the largest in the coastal region of Dalmatia. Known in history as Spalato, it was built as the retirement home of the Roman Emperor Diocletian (305 AD). The ruins of the former palace have now become the center of a city of 420,000.

Croatia has been linked with Catholicism for generations. Despite its recent communist era, Croatia has now returned fully to its Catholic past.  With religion as more of a national identity than a personal commitment, many Croatians have no idea what the Gospel message is or the possibility of a relationship through Jesus Christ.

Family History
Pastor Tim Warholic comes from Calvary Chapel Spring Valley in Las Vegas, Nevada. He attended the church there and took Bible classes through the extension campus located at the church. He was also involved in different outreach ministries of CCSV in the downtown area of Las Vegas. His wife, Grace Warholic, was raised in northern California where she and her family were very involved in reaching out to their community. She attended CC Bible College in southern California and soon after decided to go to the European extension campus to finish school. Tim and Grace met while attending Calvary Chapel Bible College Europe in Vajta, Hungary. As they were dating and during their engagement the Lord called them to be a part of a team going down to Croatia to start a church plant in Split. After marriage in January of 2005, the Warholics moved to their new home in Croatia in April.

Due to various circumstances the other members on the Split team were not able to stay. By the end of 2005, Tim and Grace were expecting their first baby as well as praying for the Lord to bring laborers to work alongside them.
June 3rd, 2006 Thomas Anthony was born in Split and on April 30th 2008 Mila Noelle was born in Zagreb, Croatia. It's now been over 4 years since the Warholics first came to Croatia and they can see so clearly how the Lord has blessed them as a family. They are looking forward to seeing what the Lord is going to continue to do in them and through them in the future.

Ministry
In the country of Croatia less than three percent of the population is evangelized. As a predominately Catholic country any influence that is not “authorized” by Rome is considered a cult. Evangelism has been the main outlet of ministry since the Warholics first moved to Split. They have been blessed to have had a consistent flow of short-term missions outreaches every Fall and Spring which have been a huge help in reaching out to the people of Split. They spend much of their time in Split meeting with people that were met and shared with during an outreach or that they had met personally. Croatians have a very social culture so they enjoy getting together and talking for hours. So, that’s what they do, always with the aim of sharing the glorious Gospel!
CC of Split has also opened a cafe (like a coffee shop) and a language school as a means of meeting new people, building relationships, and being able to share the Gospel with them. It's going very well and we have gotten many opportunities to share with people through these avenues.

The Fellowship
Some people we have met on the street have received the Lord as their savior. We've also met some believer's here who didn't have anywhere to fellowship so we started having weekly Bible studies. The study turned into a group and Calvary Chapel of Split started having Sunday morning services on Easter in 2006. It's been great to see people grow in the Lord through the teaching of His Word!
